Venetian Rose Cowl

I have a new design! Please, greet the Venetian Rose Cowl.

I am really excited about this design, which was born out of a desire to expand on some of the stitch patterns used in my Venetian Rose Blanket and is part of a series of designs I am going to be releasing in stages, which together with the blanket will be known as the Venetian Rose Collection.

This pattern is for the knitter who enjoys style, variety and adventure!

Knitted in the round, with four different stitch patterns and instructions for three sizes, this useful and versatile accessory may be worn a few different ways, including pulled up over the head for extra warmth whilst still covering the neck area - and even looks good inside out! The yarn used is Filatura Di Crosa 'Zara', which is a lightweight, Italian Merino DK with a recommended tension of 22 sts - 30 rows on 4mm/ USA 6 needles. I used a 60 cm/24'' circular needle and 3 balls of Zara to make the small size.

The circumference of the cowl is 58 - 60 cm/22 - 24'' (Small), 63 - 65 cm/24 - 26'' (Medium), and 68 - 70 cm/26 - 28'' (Large). All sizes measure 40 cm/16'' in depth. The stitches used in this design are mostly textured, with a touch of eyelet insertion and a good deep lace section to provide extra challenge, variety and knitting pleasure.

The most intricate stitch pattern used in this design is of course the lace section, which although really quite simple as lace goes, requires good manual dexterity as well as careful attention to the reading and understanding of the instructions and abbreviations. There are actually three different decrease methods used in this particular stitch pattern, and a couple of the abbreviations used read quite similarly at first glance. All are explained however, and the design is well laid out with photos and instructions included in the 4 page pdf download. The pattern also includes links to photo and video tutorials for a new (easy) bind off/cast off method I recently discovered and now like to use sometimes.

For those of you who are not aware, I have a facebook group exclusively for purchasers of my designs, as well as a facebook page, which anyone can LIKE - and I am also available to answer any questions via email, should any issues arise with any of my designs.

Might I just add, that facebook and instagram is where you will also find out about any special offers, so be sure you are on board with me in either (or both) if you don't want to miss anything! Thank you so much to those of you who support my designs and already interact with me there.

It is very much appreciated! And thank you also, for reading this post!

Please feel free to share with your knitting community, wherever that may be - and don't forget ... there's more where this came from!

(Just keep watching THIS space!)
