bring on 2018 ...

We experienced a bit of a messy start to 2018 in our household. Only a little into the first week some major events arose that threatened to consume! And as I write this, one of those 'events' has only just been written off as nothing to be overly concerned about. Happy Dance! The other is ongoing, a daily walk - for now. Some of you will relate, no doubt.

Because of all that's been going on, I found that I was not really able to settle down and get back into the swing of writing. We have also been away for a few days, a very welcome interlude in order to recharge - and now it's back to reality!

I have had my knitting throughout, which I have been most thankful for. Along with faith in my God that has sustained and most definitely helped with inner peace of mind! After all, what good is faith if it is not exercised?! And - is it faith if it is not tested? A very good question indeed, I believe! I have been working on a lovely pattern called 'Cloud Kisses', a pattern by Libby Johnson, well known Kiwi Designer behind the Truly Myrtle brand.

This pattern came along at just the right time for me. It's a beautiful shawl in two colours - which I have been working on using some cotton from my stash. And maybe, for the first time ever in my whole knitting history, I am using colours similar to that depicted in the actual design! Never the same though - that would be breaking with tradition for me! I really liked the colours used in the original design though ... and as I searched my stash I discovered I actually had something pretty close. I am really loving the process of knitting this item. The pattern is easy to follow and it is helping me to relax most days! I am using Panda Regal 4 ply Cotton, which I purchased way back when, in a charity shop! Yes, it is so worth frequenting such places, my friends! You never know what treasures you might discover! So this shawl is also turning out to be a very economic knit and the fact that I am finally using up stash yarn is also a definite bonus. Yes, I admit, for a while there I wondered why I had bought it! But it was cheap, and still sealed in it's original packaging. How could I not give in to that pressure?! It is a time consuming project but that suits me right now. Because I am soon to embark on another design of my own, it will also be a welcome distraction for those in between times, when my brain starts to hurt again!

Now, for the part you may really want to get excited about!

With over 200 LIKES on my facebook page now, I have decided it is time to celebrate with a special discount offer appropriate to this significant milestone.
