A RAVELRY GROUP HAS BEEN STARTED IN IT'S PLACE.
This week I have been thinking about all those lovely people who have kindly supported me on my design journey by purchasing one or more of my patterns. I also really appreciate those of you who haven't purchased my designs but still choose to follow me in some way and show your support in that regard. I do not take any of it for granted - and sometimes I marvel at the fact that my designs are actually selling, since once upon a time I would never have dreamed that this is what I would end up doing. I still remember when I sold my first design and how it felt.
It actually feels a bit surreal to call myself a designer, especially when I look at other designers I am completely in awe of. So when people choose to buy my patterns I absolutely feel the love and appreciate the support! With so many to choose from, the fact that some people actually choose mine still blows my mind at times! I believe in my designs, don't get me wrong. But the market is huge when you're in cyber space and when am able to capture even a small share of it this fact still has the power to amaze me.
I already have a facebook page, which exists for anyone who wishes to like/follow me ... Good to Go Knits. And although I may be contacted through various online channels already I have now decided that is appropriate for me to start showing more obvious support and interacting with those who have purchased my designs. So I am going to experiment with a group on facebook and see where it goes. Ideally the group is to be a place where members can come together and meet with myself and others for pattern support, to share their finished items - or even their WIPS (works in progress).
So if you are reading this and think you might benefit from joining the group then please do so! If there is even a little bit of interest and interaction I will be willing for it to continue. It's not about the numbers! To belong to the group you will need to be an active facebook user with a profile of your own and you will need to submit a join request when clicking through from the link provided at the end of this post. There will be questions for you to answer, but not many so please don't be nervous about that. The questions are merely to gauge your level of interest and, to be completely honest, also to weed out those who like to join groups for less noble reasons. I probably don't need to explain that!
The group will be private, in that only members will be able to see posts. Anyone will be able to see that the group is on facebook and apply to join, but unless they are accepted as a member, they will not be able to see anything else. All that is shared there will be between members only. And yes, to be a member, you will need to have purchased one or more of my designs.
