Update on "Give Me Strength"

Hi everyone. I hope and pray you are all managing to stay strong and positive in these uncertain times. I find my best strategy is to break things down into daily slots, moment by moment if necessary. I learned this over a period of 2 years when our younger daughter was seriously ill, and I often pass it on - so trust me, it's a good way to approach things! Some of you will probably relate to that already.

Just a quick note this time, regarding my newest design, the "Give Me Strength" blanket. As you may remember, I offered this as a free download a couple of weeks or so back, while I was working on it, and some of you may have taken advantage of that offer already. I know many people did and I had so many lovely comments about the design. This is always encouraging to a designer!

I finished knitting my sample a couple of days ago, am thrilled with it - and have updated the pattern to include extra details on making this design your own.

I even worked out that this version of the pattern has 2 options!

As a blanket/neck wrap - folded in 3 lengthwise and fastened with a shawl pin, it stays put nicely, and adds a lovely warm layer, without feeling heavy at all! What do you think? It would be great for traveling - even if it's only on a road trip! Have shawl pin - will travel! Yes!!!

I am now also considering making a super chunky version one day! I think it would be amazing! (Bonus Tip: Any DK/ 8ply weight yarns stranded together on a 9 - 10 mm needle should do this nicely!)

The updated version of this pattern has all new photos and a lot more information on how to adapt the size, as well as including the bind off method I used, which I only finalised once I was ready to actually bind off. The pattern is now a 4 page download, and for sale on both Lovecrafts and Ravelry.

(Please note, that if you downloaded the FREE Version, you will not receive the updated version. I have included a note on this in the Ravelry Listing, letting you know how you can receive a FREE UPDATE if this is you.)

I am keeping the price low for now, with an INTRODUCTORY 60% DISCOUNT (automatic) on Ravelry, and once placed in your cart there, the amount will alter. On Lovecrafts the price will show as being around 2pds stg - depending on whether VAT shows or not. These prices will remain current until the end of April. So please take a look at the updated listings if you missed out previously. And do let your knitting friends know. I have done things a bit differently this time and listed the Ravelry pattern in US dollars. The NZ amount always shows underneath. I may have to do that with my other designs too, if the exchange rate remains less than favourable to us here in New Zealand.

I want to leave you with this quote attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt, and included in the Pattern, which seems rather appropriate for our current situation.

You gain strength, courage and confidence, by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers!

Until next time!

Bronwyn
